We found him! He ran to a backyard all the way on the other side of Potrero Hill, all the way up Vermont and all the way down again. Worst night of our lives, don’t know how we would have made it through the wedding.

Morris is missing. He ran out of the house he was staying in at 17th and Bryant and is now loose in the Mission. If you see him, please, please send anything to my tumblr inbox or email me at foodsco at gmail.

Morris update: some people we ran into saw him running around near 19th and Kansas last night, up in Potrero Hill, but none of them managed to get ahold of him. We searched from 17th to 20th and from Vermont to De Haro and couldn’t find him.

Thank you so much to everyone who’s already reblogged this, and for all the support in general. We’ve notified animal control and we’ll be flyering/searching all day. If anyone has suggestions about other things we should be doing, let us know. And please keep your fingers crossed for little Morris.

I have a copy of This Is Water that my dad gave me and I read it a lot (in the era of digital whatever it’s one of the few hard copy paper books that I REALLY treasure). And I try to remind myself about how to think and that I’M in charge of how I think and what I think about.

Then think about your default settings. And think about HOW you think. And try really really REALLY hard to be aware of the people around you. Even if they appear awful at first glance. REALLY look. Because being aware is important. Being aware is everything.

Then, if you get the chance, read or listen to the whole thing because the above version is a fantastic excerpt beautifully done, but the full speech is worth listening to as well.

Sergio Aragonés is a national treasure. I used to rip through the newest issue of Mad Magazine going straight for the “A Mad Look At…” section and then I’d comb through looking for his margin drawings.

As a kid I thought I was so smart for finding those. Like it was a little secret that I uncovered. Needless to say I thought I was a lot smarter than I really was (still do actually).

If you haven’t read Groo your life is empty and sad and I weep for you. You should fix that.

One of my favorite parts of Wondercon (before it was ripped from the breast of the Bay Area and carted away like so much slaughtered meat by Southern California) was always stopping by Sergio’s booth, getting a quick sketch in my sketchbook (the man can draw Groo in something like 4 seconds) and picking up anything new he had on the table. One of the nicest, most gracious comic book professionals I’ve ever had the good fortune to meet.

This is probably the most important article you’ll read all day (possibly all week depending on how your week is going, but I’m not here to delve too deeply into your life because I respect your boundaries):

Some notable facts:

Nachos were invented by a woman, but naturally it’s a MAN who gets all the credit. TYPICAL!
October 21st is International Nacho Day (email me and I’ll give you my address so you can send nacho presents).
According to the FDA nacho cheese is not technically cheese and if you didn’t know that or if you actually care you’re a big loser.
Nachos got their big break in Texas thus making Texas actually good for SOMETHING.
Howard Cosell originally referred to nachos as “knock-o’s” during Monday Night Football because he was a skilled and talented sports broadcaster.
The nacho chip character in the above video obviously has brain damage and I think maybe he’s being exploited by Rico’s Nachos.
I really REALLY like nachos.
The inventor of liquid nacho cheese won’t tell you how much actual cheese is in nacho cheese. Which isn’t at all troubling.
Nachos are a scam to get you to buy more drinks. Duh!
I’m almost definitely having nachos for dinner tonight.
